Daily Makeup Routine

My daily makeup routine consists of the following products:

As always, first I moisturize my face with Clinique's dramatically different moisturizer or Cetaphil's moisturizing lotion.

I follow this by applying my favorite foundation, Revlon's Photo Ready foundation in Rich Ginger, with a flat top kabuki brush from Coastal Scents

After, I apply my concealer, NYC Cover Stick, under my eyes, down the bridge of my nose, on my forehead, and chin area.

I set my entire face using Loreal's True Match powder foundation in Sun Beige, and apply it with a Kirkland face brush.

Next, I curl my lashes and apply 3 different mascaras. First, I apply a coat of Benefit's They're Real mascara to evenly coat each lash with the product, then I apply several coats of Cover Girl's Clump Crusher waterproof mascara because it contains wax and will hold the curl in longer than non-waterproof mascara. Lastly, I apply Maybelin's Colossal Cateye Volume Express to separate the lashes.

Staying in the eye area, I apply a thin line of NYC's High Definition Liquid Eyeliner (not recommended to buy, it SUCKS!) on my lid area and follow my upper waterline using Starlet's Pencil Eyeliner in Black.

I, then, move onto my eyebrows. Using Jordana's Brow Powder Duo in Medium, I use the darkest color to underline my eyebrow and the lighter color to fill it in using a liner brush from Kirkland.

Here's the fun part, the blush! Typically I switch it up depending on the day or mood I am in, but I recently bought my first Milani Baked Blush in Fantastico Muave (gorgeous color!) and I fell in love! I applied this using a blush brush from a Sonia Kashuk brush set.

The last and final set is the lipstick. Since it is an "everyday" look, I decided to go with something more subtle. I used Loreal's Saucy Muave (560).

And that completes my look!

Hope you guys enjoyed this post!

Acne Healing Routine

Due to the cold weather here in Northern California, my skin has been acting up. I never really suffered from a face full of acne but when I get one or two, they happen to come out in the most obvious places (lucky me, right?!). I decided to do this post to share with you the products that I use when my face has a "massive" (to me that means more than two pimples) breakout.

I start off washing my face using Clean&Clear Deep Action Exfoliating Scrub.

After this step, I use Expert Sensitive Skin Makeup Remover (my label fell off a while ago but the bottle looks like this).

Next, I apply a mask that I found at CVS called Queen Helen Mint Julep Masque.

I put it all over my face, especially where the breakouts are occurring!

I applied it at 4:17pm and waited 15 minutes (as instructed) before I washed it off using warm water.

Since the mask dries hard and stripes your skin, I always like to add moisturizer. My preferred one would have to be Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturizer.

My last and final step is to apply lip balm to complete the facial treatment. I used EOS in Strawberry (I believe)!

All of these products can be found at Target.

Do What You Love

I had purchased 4 canvases over four years ago because I had planned for my cousin to draw a cherry blossom for me to hang in my office. Due to both of our crazy schedules, it never happened. I recently decided that I should do something with them since I've been trying to clean up and decorate my office space. I went to Michael's Craft Store and bought all of the items that I needed to bring my vision to life. Below is an image of all that I used to create my canvas:

4 - 8x10" Canvas
2 - Assorted Size Round Mirrors
3 - Craft Smart Acrylic Paint (Lavender, Grey, and Graphite)
1 - Mambi Sticks Silver Glitter Letters

I did not spend over $20 on all of these items together (given that I already had the 4 canvases).

Lets begin!

Step 1: Prep all of your canvases and decide the designs that you would like to paint onto the canvas. I used Scotch shipping tape to create the two designs that I went with but I would recommend the tape for wall painting. Here is what I did with my 4 canvases:

Graphite Stripes

Lavender and Grey
Grey Diamond Shape

Step 2: After I let that dry, I removed the tape from the canvases with a design. I decided to draw a lavender heart on the stripped canvas to represent "love", given that the quote I was going for is "Do what you love".

I drew the heart using a number 2 from the glitter letters that I purchased because I wanted to make sure that it matched the size of the letters that I was going to use for the other canvases.

Step 3: The letters that I purchased had a sticky back, but because I wanted to make sure that they would last me a really long time, I decided to brush on some Scotch Quick-Dry Adhesive.

I noticed that the letters stuck on better to the canvas with additional adhesive.

Step 4: After gluing all of the letters onto my canvases, I realized that I did not need to add the small mirrors that I had bought. Here is how I will display them on my wall:

I decided to display it this way because you can read it two ways, "Do what you love, love what you do."

Hope you all enjoyed my first DIY!

Holiday Outfit - Inspiration

Hello Everyone!

This will probably be my last holiday post for this year. I wanted to share with you all a quick outfit that I put together using Forever21's website. I will put my own outfit together for Christmas based on these tones and some (or one) of these items and take pictures for you all to see how close I came to this.

I love the look of always utilizing a chunky necklace to complete an outfit. The magenta color on this specific necklace is a perfect twist to the traditional red, green, and gold Christmas colors.

Modernest Geo Bib - Forever21 ($10.80)

To accompany this cold weather, I thought a simple sweater that could easily be dressed up or down would be perfect! The one thing that I love about Forever21 is that they have various options when it comes to stylish sweaters and tops!

Sweet Parisian Sweater - Forever21 ($24.80)

This is my favorite part of the outfit, the faux leather skater skirt! I love the classic/flowy style of these skits and how they make any top appear extremely girly. I have been dying to get my hands on a burgundy faux leather skater skirt because the color is just gorgeous.

 Street-Chick Laser Cut Mini Skirt - Forever21 ($24.80)

Lastly, a girls best friend, the shoes! I chose these in particular because the pop of color matched the necklace that I had chosen. The pointy heel is def making a comeback into the fashion work and these are perfect to complete our girly, yet casual, holiday outfit look.

Classic Stiletto Pumps - Forever21  ($29.80)

Outfit's Total: $90.20

My family's tradition is to celebrate Christmas on Christmas Eve, therefore, I will have a post ready for you all on my outfit on Christmas Day! Feel free to leave any suggestions on interests that you all have for me to arrange more of those types of postings (decor, makeup, outfits, DIY, etc.).

Lastly, I went out and bought all of the material that I needed to do my DIY project, so that will be coming soon as well.

My Sister's 1st Tasting

One of my sister's was proposed to early November 2013. They, my sister and her fiance, decided to wait until mid-2015 to exchange vows, giving them plenty of time to plan a beautiful wedding ceremony and reception. Here is a picture of her beautiful engagement ring!

Yesterday we went to her first tasting of food from a potential caterer and I wanted to share with you all the different dishes that they prepared for us, but the food was sooooo good that I was not able to get a photo of everything that they brought out for us. Here are 2 (out of about 6) of the dishes that were presented to us:

This is a Classic Caesar with cherry tomatoes. We also had a taste of their mixed green salad with walnuts, feta cheese, and strawberry vinaigrette (this was MY favorite one)!

This second dish (apologies for the blurry photo) is pasta with 3 different sauces: alfredo, marinara with mushrooms and olives, and lastly, pesto.

The entree's that did not make it onto my blog were 2 types of chicken: Chicken Parm & Rosmary Chicken. We also had their red roasted potatoes, and homemade bread rolls.

Since my sister's mother-in-law decided it would be a good idea to provide 2 meat options for her guests, they will be going back this weekend to try their Fillet Mignon.

The final step is to get a quote and hope that this is the caterer that my sister and her fiance will go with because the food was delicious!

As she continues to plan her wedding, I would love to update you all with the progress so that you can all join us for the ride!

ROOM

Since I, along with many other students out there, am currently on Winter break, I decided to go to the store and pick up a good book. I have been wanting to read ROOM for a while now, since many Bloggers and "Youtubers" have mentioned it. It is essentially about a 5-year-old child that has lived his/her (not sure yet if it's a boy or a girl) entire life in a room. I started this book last night, and only 10-pages in, I am enjoying how this child expresses and describes his surroundings by giving everything that he knows, a name as if they were all living objects! Anywho, once I am done with the book I will give it a rating, ,but as of now, I can truly say that I am enjoying it.

I hope to get in a DIY for you all some time next week (maybe sooner) so please keep looking out for that!
