Circus Circus!

Hello my beautiful viewers,

Summer time is here and I am so excited to share with you all this adorable baby shower theme. As soon as I found out that one of my friends and her sister were both having girls, another friend and I got to work and put together this cute circus baby shower. We had a really fun time bringing to life all of our creative ideas. Hope you all enjoy, details will be listed below the pictures!

The drum the ty monkey is sitting on is a plant pot hand-painted with a zig-zag design.

The centerpiece also included this clear cylinder vase filled with peanuts and topped with fresh flowers.
Flower: Costco | Cylinder Vase: Michaels | Label & Ribbon: Michaels
My favorite part, the favors! These plastic bags were filled with a hand-crafted soap bar to represent the gold fish you win at a circus/fair. We adorned with a ticket and sealed it with a bow.

On to the desert table. Of course there is no such thing as a circus without popcorn, so we put these boxes together and made them baby shower appropriate - "Poppin' Soon"
Boxes: Etsy | Popcorn: Local Grocery Store
Lastly, we created the same stand as we did for the monkey (above) and found a cute cotton candy machine to display as an adorable prop.

Winter Wonderland

My most favorite time of the year is during the holiday season! The beautiful decorations, the cheer in everyone's faces and the unity of family and friends are some of many reasons that I love this season.

I had the honor, along with the beautiful women in my family, to put together a Winter Wonderland themed baby shower for my cousin (who moved over 300 miles away from us for college and never returned). We wanted to surprise her, so we had to plan strategically and select a date around the holidays so that we were certain that she would be here to visit.

As planned, two days after Christmas, my cousin invited her over for a spontaneous lunch at his house. When she showed up, we were all ready to surprise her, a little confused (because she thought we were all there for lunch), she reacted late, but nonetheless she loved everything!

The surprise did not stop there! As I mentioned above, she lived miles away from us now and her boyfriend was unable to accompany her for the holidays. Easy fix! We flew him over for the day so that he could spend a few hours with her during her baby shower celebration! She had no clue and burst into tears when she saw him walk into the party. Alas, the baby shower was complete!!!

Now that you all know the beautiful story behind this event, below are a few photos of the event.

Oh Boy!

Hello my beautiful viewers!

I am so happy to finally show you all everything that I have been working on these past few weeks! My cousin and his wife are expecting their first baby boy and this "Little Man" theme could not have been more fitting. Below are pictures of the baby shower decor:

The bags were filled with the prizes that were given out for the individuals who won each game.

Candy jars can be filled with anything your heart desires! In this case it was gorgeous silk flowers.

Now, the anticipation for this little man to arrive!

One Day I Will Have a Mustache!

Over the weekend I created a number of baby shower invitations. I am very proud to say that I will soon have another baby nephew, come September! The theme to this baby shower is "Little Man" and it is the cutest thing that I have ever seen (since I am obsessed with BOWS!).

Here are the items you will need to recreate these invitations:
  • 5/8 in. Satin Ribbon (your choice of color)
  • Glue Gun
  • Lighter or Candle
  • Cricut Machine
  • Baby Steps Cartridge
  • Scissors
  • Any Color Cardstock Paper
Prep:
I cut 20 of the black satin ribbon at 5 in. length and an additional 20 at 1in. length.

Make sure to plug in your hot glue gun as soon as you start this process so it can be ready to go! Also, I decided to light a candle, and use that flame because it made the process much faster.

Lets BEGIN!

Step 1: I printed on a white piece of paper my desired text for the baby shower invite and them put it through my Cricut Machine using the Baby Steps cartridge. The dye cut machine perfectly cut out the onesie's for me!

Step 2: Since I had my ribbons cut and ready to be used for this project, I quickly ran the edges through a flame to eliminate any fabric fallout.

(Pre-flame exposure)
 (Post-flame exposure)

Step 3: I forgot to take pictures of this process, but hopefully my explanation will be just as useful. I placed the ribbon upside-down onto a hard surface and poured a line of glue in the center of the ribbon. Then you fold both of the edges into the center to create a "bow-like" shape. After the glue is dried, fold the center of the bow and glue it together. At this point, the bow should be taking it's form. Next, grab the 1 in. piece of ribbon (previously cut) and glue one end to the back of the bow and let it dry. Lastly, wrap it around and glue the other end to the back of the bow. And just like that, you should have a Bow Tie!

Step 3: Once your bows are all done, simply glue them (with the hot glue gun) onto the onesie cutout.

Since my onsie was a bit small, I was unable to add the registry information onto it. I created this little card and decided it would be cute to add a mustache on it to give it that "Little Man" affect!

Hope you all enjoyed my first DIY invitation!

Baby Elephants

As promised, below are some photos from the baby shower that I semi-hosted last weekend. Hope you all enjoy the small details that we all put together!

As favors, we put together two different goodies in clear plastic bags. This first one is a Mexican candy called Mazapan. We thought it was a cute idea since they are primarily made from peanuts!

This second bag, we clearly filled with, both salted and unsalted, peanuts!

For the baby shower games, we decided to have an "activity table" for the guests to quickly join in on the fun before taking a seat!

Games displayed on the table:

How many peanuts?
Baby bingo
Who did it?
Don't say "baby"
Diaper raffle

Lastly, no party is complete without a candy/dessert table! Here are a couple of pictures of the candy bar displayed at this baby shower.

And a more detailed picture of the cupcakes!

Now that the first event of the year is done, I am moving on to the next one. I will be co-hosting a "Breakfast at Tiffany's" themed bridal shower at the end of March. I hope you all stay tuned to continue to go through these event planning adventures with me!

Little Peanut

I have always aspired to be a wedding and event planning coordinator, which is why I am up for decorating any theme or event. My first event of the year is a baby shower and I am eager to show you all what I've been working on!

The theme is elephants and the colors I had to work with are aqua, navy blue, yellow and gray. With the help of my friends sister, we managed to recreate three different centerpieces that we found on Pinterest.

Below are both the inspiration and our actual centerpiece with the items we used to make them.

INSPIRATION

OUR VERSION

The stand is made up of round piece of wood, a 3/4" diameter wooden stick, two metal hooks and half of a 6" cylinder ball. Clearly, the clothing that you display is optional, but we're putting different outfits that fit the theme!

INSPIRATION

OUR VERSION

We used shelled peanuts, cake pop sticks, clay pots, paint, green foam, 6" cylinder foam, and zigzag paper strips

INSPIRATIN

OUR VERSION

We used a yellow lantern, small basket, yarn, long stick, green foam, TY elephant, and peanuts (not shown here)

We clearly had to make some changes to our inspirations to fit the theme, but I think we did a great job at being crafty and playing around with new ideas.

The event is this Saturday, so I will have more photos for you all to see! Next on my calendar is.....a "Brealfast at Tiffany's" themed bridal shower!!!

Stay tuned my loved ones!
