DIY: Mason Jar Vases

I have always found mason jars to be a modern twist to a vintage look. I decided to crate my own mason jar vase, and I wanted to share it with you all.

Let's get started!!

Items you will need:

1 - mason jar
Two different colors of acrylic paint (I used gold and navy blue)
A paint brush
Sand paper

Step 1: paint your jar with the base color. This color will later serve as the "peek-a-boo" color for your vase. I chose gold for my jar.

Step 2: Since the color was really translucent, I decided to do a second coat.

Step 3: After the 2nd coat is completely dry, it is time to introduce the second color. I painted the mason jar with 3 coats of navy blue.

Step 4: Taking the sand paper, I went over all of the letters on the mason jar to give it a rustic feel. This process must be done with a soft hand to prevent peeling off all of the paint.

Hope you enjoyed and try out this new DIY!
